Marutham UK was born from a simple observation: British Tamil women in healthcare often lacked a dedicated support network that understood their unique cultural and professional challenges. Founded in 2023, our organisation emerged as a response to this gap.
The word "Marutham" translates to "sanctuary" in Tamil, perfectly encapsulating our vision. We set out to create a space where Tamil women at every stage of their healthcare careers could find guidance, belonging, and empowerment.
From our first mentorship pairing to our growing programme of events and resources, Marutham UK has steadily built a community that celebrates the intersection of Tamil heritage and healthcare excellence.
