Marutham UK began with a simple idea: to create a supportive community for Tamil women navigating careers in healthcare. Many students and young professionals often found themselves balancing cultural expectations, academic pressures, and professional ambitions without a network that truly understood their experiences.

Founded in 2025, Marutham UK was created to bridge that gap. The name “Marutham” symbolises growth, strength, and belonging — values that remain at the heart of everything we do.

What started as a small vision has grown into a national platform connecting women across medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, nursing, and allied healthcare professions. Through mentorship, events, outreach, and professional development opportunities, Marutham UK continues to empower the next generation of women in healthcare whilst celebrating Tamil identity, community, and excellence.
